time to take action, need some advice
    hi everyone,

I've been browsing this site for a wile now, thought it was time to start doing something about my situation. I'm 22, from Ireland and sadly balding is ruining my life. ive had a receding hairline for a long time, but the rest of my hair had always been thick so I never worried, unfortunately I'm at the stage where it's just getting to difficult to hide, my hair seems to be thinning aggressively all over and my crown appears to be thiining at an alarmingly fast rate. it pains me more because no one in my family is bald including all my brothers both younger and older that show no signs of balding atal. I guess I may be holding on to the hope that there's another reason for the balding. my question is whats my first step? consult a doctor? take a blood test? I guess I'm willing to take a pill for the rest of my life if it saves my hair, and hold out until a cure is here. any advice is appreciated

Research all the meds and all the possible side effects. Then decide if you are willing to risk the sides to save your hair. Get the blood work done before you start any DHT blocker so you know how it interacts with your body.

You should be aware that you could give yourself a bigger problem than going bald. However, the early studies (1990s) suggest the risk is small. But there are more studies happening as I type this.

    Good luck.

I think I'm gonna start fin, after I get a blood test ofcourse, my only problem is if I start now no doubt I'll be having serious shedding during the summer, which would be disasterous in regards to work and holidays :( at this stage if I shed I'm gonna look very bald

Fin doesn't always cause a shed, from the research I did before I started taking it it seems it's pretty rare, I've been on it for over a month now and I'm shedding less than I was before the fin. Minox on the other hand.. I'd say a shed is more likely to happen than no shed which is why I'm staying away from it for as long as possible.

Shedding is an indicator that fin is working as the weak hairs are being replaced by stronger ones
