Agressive balding at 22-My hairloss story
    Hello,
I'm new to the forum and I wanted to tell you about my hair loss journey which started when I was 20. Until that point my hair was pretty dense, absolutely no sign of hair loss, I actually remember a barber commenting on how great and dense hair I got, just a couple of months before I first realized hair loss.
May 2018 was the first time I realized a tiny bit of recession and also a slight reduce in hair density, but it was so minor, that I told to myself it's probably in my head and also when I told my friends they laughed at me. I totally forgot about it for 2 months or so, until I travelled overseas to visit my family for 2 months. During that period, I was finding very often hair strands in my food, but I thought that they are not mine, as I used to find my mother's hair strands in my food since I was a child. When I finally realised it was MY hair I totally freaked out. Meanwhile, my density had gotten much worse by August and I got on finasteride+minoxidil the next day I returned home. I also buzzed my hair at that point.
Now, it turned out I was a pretty good responder and my hairloss had totally stopped by December 2018, like I had to see a hair strand for months at some point. I also had a little bit of regrowth, and my hair looked superb and very dense. Now for some reason, I decided to stop finasteride at April, and 3 months after I had lost a decent amount of hair. Hair kept deteriorating through the summer period(2019), and in August I decided to hop on finasteride again.
This is where the strange parts begins. While I never actually stopped finasteride since then, I wasn't very consistent with it. I was skipping like 2 days a week, and twice I didn't take a single pill for 15 days. Since March though I haven't missed a single dose. At March or April my hair took a very significant hit which I couldn't explained. I mean, there are guys that are taking 0.25mg a day and still have great results. I swear my hair is much much worse than it was in August, when i re-started the regimen. There's something positive though, there isn't hairloss since April, but my hair is already pretty bad, especially for a 22 years old guy.
Last 3 photos are my present condition, while the first 2 are back to when I started finasteride for the first time(September 2018).
    What do you think?

Hello, thanks for writing your post and sharing your photos.

Are you taking Fin and using Minoxidil constantly every day now?

Your hair does not look as bad as you think (although I understand your stress).

My humble advice would be to keep it short like it for now, that way you will be able to get as much Minoxidil on to the scalp as possible.

Also, have you tried derma rolling?

    Kind regards,

    Jack

I really appreciate your help. Yes, right now I'm taking Fin and Minoxidil almost every day. I'm keeping it short for the last 2 years, there's no point in growing it. I haven't tried dermarolling, but I'm willing to give it a try though I'm not sure what to expect.

Hello, yes you need to take your fin everyday without fail, set an alarm on your phone if it helps. Also get min on your head twice a day as well. You have a shaved head now which makes applying it much easier, just slap it on, rub it in and you're done.

I have responded quite well to both fin and min (my story is also on here).

I derma roll, but I have no evidence that is has played a crucial role in getting my hair back. When I had a shaved head like you I rolled once every two days with a 0.5mm needle.

    All the best
