    Rogaine
OK so I am 17 years old and just finished an appointment with my dermatologist. He recommended for me to get Rogaine, and said that he did not want to put me on any pills (propecia) because I am too young. He recommended rogaine and said that rogaine pretty much stops the DHT in hair follicles. I asked him if Rogaine ever loses effectiveness over the years (or stops working) and he said no, as long as I continue to use it, it will do the job. I'm wondering if this is true since i've seen different on the internet. Does Rogaine eventually stop working?

it may or may not lose its effectiveness over time. it may or may not even work for you. if your hair loss is aggressive then a small fence will have little chance against a tidal wave. so while it can help slow down your progression, your hair loss may continue even if minoxidil is doing its job. genetics is scary indeed :)

i don't know if minox stops DHT. i know finasteride blocks DHT but even finasteride doesn't fully halt the conversion of DHT.
