    My DR. Won't Prescribe Avodart
    I'm in Orange County, CA
I have an hmo, my dr continues to prescribe my finasteride which I have been using for 10 yrs before I met him
but I brought up avodart and he said no....
finasteride isn't slowing my hairline anymore
Anyone know of a dr I can switch to in Orange County that cares...???

    what dose do you take?
I held for years on .25 then started the hairloss again.
I upped to 1.0 but it didn't help
Then I tried 1.25 proscar and i'm doing awesome again.. and i'm 43 years old.

you know i don't even know anymore.
i started a long time ago on 1.25 mg for a couple of months then went to .25
and that held me for many many years.

when i started to notice the .25 wasn't working i bumped it up to 1mg

didn't work for me but i'm getting great results now with 1.25

i don't care what anyone says about finasteride dose doesn't matter

my hair is the proof for me and know because i see it everyday. dose matters.

if it wasn't for finasteride, i'd be bald for sure or way into the high norwood.

hairfall started at 19 and i'm 43 now with a great head of hair.

Either way your insurance likely will not pay for these medications. Your doctor must not be comfortable prescribing medication that are off formulary (not clinically indicated for hair loss). There are several HT doctors in the Orange County area.

I don't think any of my doctors would prescribe me dutasteride for hair loss either. Not even going to bother asking, even though I want dutasteride for hair loss.

I'm tempted to just buy it online from some legit online pharmacy.

    ah
well I have been on 5mg finasteride for many years
    kept me through my 20s
but now approaching 34, my hairline is getting uncomfortable...and that's with the stuff I spray in there to cover it up for the last 10 years...

anyways, my dr prescribes my fin. so I pay $15 a month

deutasteride online.....w/o a prescription, going to be a heavy expense...

    25 going on 65
Some doctors do prescribe dutasteride for hair loss, including hair loss specialists. You can look for docs in your area and contact them before making an appt--see if they prescribe dut for hair loss. If they don't, try the next doctor, and keep going until you find one who says yes. Then make an appointment and get the rx.
It might be pricey though, and the chances of your insurance covering it are slim to none.

Dutasteride can be taken every other or every third day because it ahas a much longer half life compared to Finasteride. So this make it more a little more reasonable.

I've found out my insurance does not cover it.
I've used them http://goo.gl/uMvJSy for months and last time they gave me 10% coupon code "NEWHAIR".
I have been taking this for more than six months. Have all the positive effects like thinning of hair reduced, rather it seems new hair have grown.
    Cheers.
