    CIT
1200 CIT "non-strip" to frontal hairline of class 3 patient - 1 yr. - Case MGM
Several months ago, this middle-aged patient came to us in hopes of achieving a significant improvement in appearance by undergoing our most minimally invasive hair transplant procedure. A CIT “non-strip” procedure not only saves patients from the linear scar associated with follicular unit transplant, but it also efficiently uses each patient’s donor hair. In CIT, the physician can selectively chose each donor hair from the donor area (back of head) one at a time. This method of hair transplant significantly reduces recovery time and involves less associated pain than follicular unit transplant (strip) technique. Usually follicular unit transplants involve at least three to five days more than CIT mostly because it doesn’t require any closure (suturing) devices in the donor area (back of head).

With medium-fine, slightly wavy hair and well above average donor density the patient’s coverage and fully matured result not only offers symmetry and balance to the front, but it restores some confidence as well. The treatment plan for this patient was to slightly lower the hairline by approx. 2 cm, and strategic placement of 1200 CIT grafts. When lowering the hairline, the growth/coverage must be matched with an appropriate density, so a follow-up session can be performed to fill in any remaining areas. This patient expects to see more growth from a smaller, more recent CIT session to “touch-up” any remaining areas. Hairlines should always appear soft, and any growth from the hair restoration procedure should appear as if it never was grafted. Framing the face is the main effect that an appropriate hairline creates for patients, but too much density can draw too much attention in front. The temples, temporal regions, hairline, and eyebrows are all components that can easily make or break even the best hair transplant procedure. Best of growth to this patient!
