Dr. Carlos K. Wesley (NYC): Hairline Revision of Prior Transplant (1836 FU)
Nearly one decade after having a transplant with a different North American surgeon, this patient eventually decided that he was fed up with the exposed grafts throughout his hairline and wanted to do something about it. He can be seen before and only six (6) months after his 1836 -graft FUT procedure with Dr. Carlos Wesley. During the surgery, his hair follicles were incubated in PRP and ACell.

I have attached magnified images of this patient’s donor and recipient areas that were taken during our initial consultation together. As you can see, the prior transplant (performed at a different surgical clinic) left grafts in the recipient area that were originally spaced at a density that resulted in an unnatural-appearing pattern. The healthy caliber (thickness) of the transplanted hairs was inconsistent with the wide spacing (10-15 grafts/cm2) between them.

Different types of grafts should be distributed in different densities according to their number of hairs and the caliber of each hair shaft. In this example, transplanting at an average density of 35-40 grafts/cm2 throughout much of the frontal half resulted in a more natural-appearing fullness.

In my quest to find a solution for my hair loss, I interviewed with several Doctors and when I met with Dr. Carlos K. Wesley I was immediately impressed with his mild mannered demeanor, professionalism, patience and his delicate approach in explaining the different types of procedures he offered. I elected Dr. Wesley's (FUT) "Follicular Unit Transplant" and was truly impressed with the results, which have transformed my appearance and renewed my confidence.

I am a 23 year old skeptic and after seeing the awesome results my skepticism/doubts were replaced with optimism and I will place all my trust in Dr. Wesley for all future procedures/follow-up and highly recommend him. By the way, his entire staff is awesome as well and they make you feel extremely comfortable through out.

I can second baseballmike's post. I flew in from Atlanta to meet with Dr. Wesley last month to discuss a potential 600-900 graft hairline/frontal FUE procedure.

Dr. Wesley spent well over an hour with me discussing the pros and cons. He ultimately reccomended that I wait to have any procedure. I was very impressed and comforted by his demeanor, professionalism, and knowledge.

Ultimately, I left with no doubt that he puts his patients' best interest first and I look forward to working with him when he believes the time is right.
