Olux Foam (corticosteroid) For Diffuse Thinners
Has anyone ever tried Olux foam for difise thinning? I was recently proscribed it and my scalp has never felt better. The familiar diffuse thinner itch and pain is gone, and if there is any truth to the hypothesis that hairloss - at least for difise thinners - is an autoimmune disorder that results in hair-destroying inflammation, then it makes sense that a corticosteroid would help. I've only been on it a few days, and though you can't be on it for more than two weeks, I plan to use it for a month. It should also be noted that Olux is often proscribed to women with hairloss, and there is a lot of anecdotal evidence that it grows hair for them.

I'm a diffuse thinner and get the classic annoying ass mpb itch on the top...I was looking into .5% Hydrocort since its OTC and easy to get..apply EOD or 2x a week to avoid sides like skin thinning...

I am not a diffuse thinner, I have classic MPB, but I have been prescribed Clobetasol shampoo for scalp itch(I believe the active ingredient is the same). I used as directed and it didn't do anything for my scalp itch nor did I regrow any hair. Eventually, I stopped using it. I would be concerned about the side effects of long-term use, especially the skin thinning.
