Bald spot with no hair above both ears

Hello all, I would like to ask question if any of you have idea what might be the cause for the bald spots/high hairline just above the ears. I have that condition since I remember and it always limited the types of haircuts I could have.
Is it some kind of disease and can I do something to bring back the normal hairline? Thanks
