Decision made. Propecia it is? But where to buy?
Ok. I went to my Doc and as expected he prescribed Propecia 1mg daily, and twice a day Rogaine foam application.

I requested for a prescription for WalGreens.

Then came the bomb. 714$ for a year of tablets? Are you kidding me! Propecia is not covered by my Prescription drug insurance.

I checked online and found that generic Propecia is available for under 200$ for a year's supply?

I wanted to know where you folks buy your medicine?

    Thanks for the help.

You can get a 4 month supply of generic Finasteride from Walmart for $10 if you split the pills into quarters.

Unfortunetly, name brand Propecia from most pharmacies are still expensive.
I do have many patients who choose to use the generic Finasteride and are very pleased with the results. You should be careful when ordering from on line pharmacies.

But my doc told me to take a 1mg tablet daily. I ordered it online, waiting for shipment! Thanks

1mg Propecia is the 'official' drug and dosage, but 5mg Proscar is exactly the same drug and can be easily cut into quarters for a 1.25mg daily dose. Big savings can be made.

I've done fine with my generic 5mg Proscar.

I think that all of the anti Propecia posts should be put in one thread. I understand the Joe-1 believes he has permanent sides, and for all I know he does, but most of us do not and it’s unfair to people who can benefit from Propecia to be bombarded with all of this anti propecia propaganda.

In most cases if a patient was going to experience a side effect it would occur within the first few weeks. If they were in the unlucky small group to have real side effects, when they discontinued the medication all functions should return to normal.
