    Hair transplant questions..please..
    Hello,
Sorry if this is the same old newbie stuff.
I have come to realise a future without hair isn't for me.
I am just wondering if anyone could help me with some questions.
Would I have to take finasteride after a procedure? I'd rather not.
Could I continue to use minoxidil?
Once you have had a transplant, is a shaved head out of the question due to scarring?
Is there a limit on the amount of procedures you can have?
If you have several hair transplants what sort of time limit is needed in between?

    Many thanks for any help,

Not taking finasteride after a HT is like wearing one shoe - you dont have to take it - but it really helps if you do.

A lot of HT surgeons recommend minox after a HT so yes.

A shaved head is indeed out of the question if you are concerned about scars.

As there is a limit to the amount of donor hair you have, there is a limit to how many procedures you can have, nobody has cured hair loss yet.

    Several months to a year.

I agree, you should definitely try Propecia/finasteride to see if it helps slow or stop your hair loss. Much better to keep the hair that you've got than rely solely on a transplant. I've used Propecia for 7 years with no side effects. I really wish I'd started taking it earlier. There are people who have taken Proscar, which is 5 times as strong, for years, so I’d be surprised if Propecia was unsafe. What are your reasons for not wanting to take it?

If you think that you might want to shave your head in future then any transplant must be with an FUE harvest, not strip.
