the downside is when putting on or taking off clothes, sleeping or running hands through hair its messy.

It gives an obvious matt finish when looked at.

You need a certain amount of hair to start with.

And the biggest problem for me was rain and water ruining it.

    Thank you, Grincher. EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!

The matt finish- can't stand it. I'm so used to gloss. I like a wet look.

'Need a certain amount of hair' and (In my experience), good lighting and the ability to move it about to get it looking half-way decent. Easy to overdo it and look like you just dumped a bunch of dark brown sawdust on your head.

'messy'. This one hasn't been a problem for me- you just use a super hold hair spray. I can't imagine using it any other way. Of course, for me, my skin (incl. scalp) is so sensitive, that hairspray and toppik loves to block pores. I've even gotten a pimple here and there from it.

But it CAN make things look a little better- just wish there were a better solution.

Yes it can help in the early stages. Its a relatively easy "solution"

However, as you lose more hair, it becomes less effective at which point a hair system became an option for me
