Close to pulling trigger on surgery
    Hello,

I have the financing in place I'm just nervous now about what the results will be. I understand I won't get a full head of hair like I'm 13 again, but I do expect to be able to allow my hair to grow out and be styled.

I actually have a decent amount of existing hair in place and a strong front hairline. The top of my head is whats thinning, though there is cover atop my head; it's pretty thin. For those of you that have had HTs.. have your results met your expectations? If not, why? If so, please share those encouraging stories as well. Lastly, any helpful bits of advice on this decision would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

if you are starting to bald, its not a good option. Unless your hair has been the same for years, then go for it.

I haven't had a hair transplant but please do your research on doctors, if you have the money go for feriduni one of the best in the world from what ive read.

It's possible that your hair on top is still too dense to safely transplant hairs to the area. Of course I don't know this without seeing photos, but it's something a HT surgeon may tell you.

Have you tried any treatments yet? Propecia and Rogaine are good at restoring density in guys with diffuse hairloss, which is the type of hairloss you have.

    Been there done that
I would never recommend HT, big waste of money and the results are marginal at best especially if you have dark hair. If I had to do it all over again I would shave my head first. I now wear a nice hair system to cover my scars. My HT grew in but you'll be transplanting for years time and time again and the end result is just not guaranteed and I went to a very renowned doctor. I guarantee you've heard of him.
Check out the forum on hair systems and see how many guys are wearing hair to cover their scars.

    hi
If its just starting to thin up top , I would try medication first. Personally I have been on Proscar for 6 months with no sides and minox as well , and yes I have noticed less shedding , hopefully in another 6 months I will see some thickening! I have seen some great results from hair transplants on this site, I'm sure there is a case posted on here with pictures that is very close to your case, so keep an eye out .

    Take care!

Buzz your head first or cut it as short as your comfortable
See if you can live , tolerate it
It's cheaper and if the HT doesn't go as you expect or want it to , then the rest of your life will be hell
