Hair grows double the rate it's supposed to

I just thought maybe this could be contributing to my hair loss. Ever since I started losing my hair I've had really fast growth. My hair grows about an Inch if not more a month. Normally hair grows half an inch a month. Just wondering if anyone knows what causes this and if it somehow relates to hairloss?
