How much will this cost me?
Sadly my hairline slightly receded a few years ago at the age of 25 and I want to get my hairline restored. I have no idea what the cost of this is and I want to get an idea.

Here are some pics of the areas I want restored. The red shows where the hairline should be:

I know it will be a few thousand dollars maybe, so how this the payment plans work usually? Do you have to pay all in one lump sum or do doctors let you finance this?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

It's difficult to give you an estimate of cost because that will all depend on the price a given surgeon charges, the procedure you elect to have (the main types are strip/FUT and FUE) and the number of grafts he or she recommends. Many clinics offer free online consultations in which you will submit pictures and get a professional recommendation from a surgeon. The IAHRS is a good place to start looking for the most reputable HT centers: http://www.iahrs.org/SearchDoctor.asp

As far as payment plans go, this will again depend on the surgeon and clinic you choose. There are always options, such as MedChoice, which provide financing specifically for medical procedures.

    Update..

I got a consultation and the surgeon said I would need about 800 grafts and it would cost $4500. I will make a separate topic about the details.

That graft count sounds kind of low....but with your curly hair, you certainly need fewer than an asian for example. See a doc for an in person consultation as CIT girl suggests. We have worked with several men with similar needs and usually come in around 1200 grafts, but I'd caution that your hairline (drawn) is pretty low on the frontal pic...and in my opinion, ought to be a little more mature, so that it looks ok as you age. But that is what a consultation in person is exactly for.

    Good luck

IMHO you are not a candidate especially not for that low/wide hairline. Your loss appears diffuse and very unstable therefore you will encounter further especially at the front even if on meds IMHO.

Whoever quoted you 800 needs questioning - who was it??
