Dr Cooley 1,819 grafts hairline 1 & 4 year followup

This patient is in his 30's and came to see me four years ago for some hairline work. We started finasteride and performed FUT of 1,819 grafts (3,817 hairs). He is shown at one year and just recently came in to see me for a finasteride refill. The final four photos are from this visit. The results have held up well over this time period.

Fantastic result, Dr. Cooley. Do you know if this patient is using generic finasteride or name brand Propecia/Proscar? And have you been seeing any difference, anecdotal or otherwise, between the two?

He is on generic finasteride 5mg, taking one quarter pill MWF. I have seen problems with the generic finasteride 1mg and recommend my patients avoid this. Or if they don't mind the extra cost, they can take the name brand Propecia.
