SMP tricopigmentation progress w/ pics - Dr Gabel in Portland, OR

Underwent temporary SMP tricopigmentation last week. Dr Gabel completed the 2-day procedure personally: two sessions on consecutive days (approx. 2 hours each) with a third to be completed next month for fill-ins. Results were impressive. For the first time in 15 years, I have an identifiable hairline & it looks absolutely authentic. It’s difficult to tell where my own hair begins & the pigments start, even when examining the scalp closely from a few inches away in the mirror. I expected scabs, but there were none, just mild soreness/redness. The procedure itself felt like tickling/combing against my scalp (Dr Gabel is an MD, & can prescribe a light pain reliever if needed – in my case, Vicodin). Went back to work the day after the second session with no problems. The redness had virtually disappeared.

I’d recommend the procedure as great economical non-surgical option. The pictures say it all. The staff were very helpful & hospitable… even offered snacks!

Can I ask why you went temporary and how often will you need to re visit for touch ups? Looks really good though. As someone who is just receding at the hairline it scares me going bald and not having a hairline.

Looks awesome man!! I have been considering this, but have a few questions.

-How long before it starts to fade?
      - about how much does it cost?
      - Did you have any scars on your head and, if so, how do they look now?
      - Is it affected by the sun?
      - How does it look when it starts to fade?

temporary is a good soft option - I was very concerned about the hairline especially & was put off about what I've read about permanent pigments, possible bleeding/discoloration over time & needing laser removal if that happens. Every 6 months I will need a touch up, but so what? I don't have to pay for haircuts & it's affordable.

Bear in mind that I'm only 2/3rds through the process & got it done 7 days ago (!), but talk about instant gratification! I was told to expect fading anywhere between 6 months to 2 years as the ink is naturally absorbed by the skin. Not sure if I should mention cost on this forum, but feel free to message me privately if you're interested. I had no scars. Was told to wear sunscreen (sun does cause fading, not sure how much). Fading can depend on many factors & how active you are/other biological issues. Temporary was my best low-risk/reasonably-priced option, so it was worth a shot & it paid off.

Thank you. Very pleased with the process so far & I'm only 2/3rds through & have a final session in a month (pics were taken immediately after treatment on 22 July 2015).

I'll be looking forward to those. I'm seriously considering a temporary procedure myself - as a "testdrive" so to speak. Having a well respected H/T doctor actually performing the procedure inspires a lot of confidence.

I live in New York City-- I really, in my own mind, consider myself the " poster boy" for baldness since I started losing scalp hair at 15 years of age------
I have had hair transplants( unsuccessful)--
I have had the best hairpieces( too much maintenance & very, very expensive)--
hair weaving ( they tied a wig to my head)
and scalp reductions( did nothing to help me)
I was living with a hat my whole life and psychologically destroyed any confidence my whole life------ By accident- I found something called SMP-- did not know what it was-- I did research and my whole life was about to change------
I had a Scalp Micropigmentation procedure
performed ( actually 4 separate treatments a few weeks apart)-----Two years ago!!!!
Honestly-- my life has changed dramatically!!!!!!!
I don't know the rules on the forum about mentioning a company or a doctor name???
I had the procedure performed in New York City at an office called NuScalpNY--
It is owned by a Board Certified doctor--
Dr Arthur Freiberg-- He performs all the procedures himself and he is a true artist--
                            He literally changed my life!!!!
I no longer wear a hat!!!!
I literally got my confidence and self- worth back which eluded me my entire life!!!!
I have a different walk and talk-- actually could say that I got my " swagger" back!!!!
I am such a "happy camper" that I plan on calling some of the networks in NYC to praise this man and his company!!!!
I am not paid by him or his company to say a darn thing--- but I bless him for giving me back my life!!!!--- and my 3D Scalp Micropigmentation looks better and more lifelike than the horrible transplants that I wound up spending over $74,000 during my lifetime!!!
My hairpieces were considered so good and only lasted 1 1/2 years for each and always needed to buy 2 at a time because when one went to be cleaned-- I had to wear a mother hairpiece-- Therefore- every 1 1/2 years I was spending $6,000 plus constant charges for maintenance each & every month!!!--- Talk about rip offs!!!!!
Transplants did nothing to help me -- just gave me ultimately 8 horrible scars in back of my head-- which-- BTW -- my Dr. FREIBERG & NuScalpNY and micropigmentation made disappear!!!!!
