First time user of minoxidil and propecia. ...help

Hi I was just prescribed minoxidil and propecia for minor hair loss. Ive noticed in the past week my hair loss has gotten worse . I have thin blonde hair. My goal is to grow a medium length hair style . I have a minor receeding hairline and some thining on top. What strategy when it comes to hairstyle is best when taking these meds because i know it gets worse before it gets better. Is it ok to just grow it out without it looking too bad or should I keep it short until ive taken propecia for at least 6 months?
