Does this look like hair loss? (photo)

In all honesty I believe I have had thinner hair most of my life but it seems to be much worse than I ever recall. I have been on minoxidil for 3 months. Does it look like I am experiencing balding and if so does it look like minox is doing anything. Thanks for the support, its nice to know people care!

Hi JSmyth,

Do you have any idea of how obnoxious imageshack is to those you want to have a look? I don’t even try to look at photos that have been shared using imageshack anymore. Yes. It’s that bad.

If you use another photo sharing site, one that is a lot less obnoxious such as flickr or whatever, I’ll have a look.

Because you have long hair, have you noticed lots of hair lost?

No thats the main thing, I always read about people noticing lots of shedding and hair falling out in the shower but I don't really ever get anything like that. My concern is that I am going through miniaturization at a young age (I am only 20). What are your thoughts and thanks a lot for your input, I appreciate it

I began losing my hair at 21, 3 months I turned 21. I knew I was losing hair because I would look at the shower drain and its more than normal.

By the way, your hair looks great...... (no homo)

That is so much better. However, pictures of your hairline are not enough to tell if you are balding or not. It is completely normal for caucasion males to loose temple hair, so that alone does not tell you much - other than you are obviously male. The vertex and mid-anterior areas will tell you if you are balding. If those areas are thinning, you are balding. From what little bit I can see of your mid-anterior in those photos, you might be thinning - but it's too hard to see if you are. Try posting photos of your hair parted down the middle, both wet and dry.

Do not stress yourself out by counting hairs. It will drive you nutty. Besides it is completely normal to loose 100 to 150 hairs per day, even for those who are not suffering with hair loss. Some days you may loose more. Some days you may loose less. It is only a probelm if you are loosing more than that consistantly every day.

Defentely looks like you're going bald because of the mini-hairs around the hairline. Get on Propecia and you should be good.
