    Flying after a HT
    Hi guys,

Nice to connect with you all.

I am 38 years old (Norwood 2/3) and I am scheduled to have a surgery with Rahal in Toronto in October to fill in my widows peak, estimated at 1500 grafts.

The flight back to London is 6.5 hours and I am seeing a lot of conflicting information about when it is OK to fly after a HT, so I was hoping I could hear of some of your experiences for those who have done so?

Following the procedure I will be icing, keeping my head elevated at all times, taking fish oil, CBD and arnica and even though I don't like taking pharmaceuticals when not absolutely necessary, I am not against adding prednisone if it helps.

The Rahal clinic wants me to stay for 5 nights, but I have seen some surgeons say you can fly back the very next day or basically when you like.

I appreciate they care for their patients, but I'm still interested in hearing of some of other first hand experiences, especially as I have a family I'll want to be getting back to, and I work weekends.

    Much appreciated guys, thank you.

Normally, you need to rest about a week after Hair Transplant Surgery for better results and recover fast.

    Hi,

I just sat through the travel video and didn't hear a mention about swelling and how many days post surgery we should wait before travelling.

Swelling is very different for all but with Rahal patients it tends to be a guarantee due to the volume of saline. Id wait if i were you 4/5 days post op before travelling. Mother nature is best aid and keeping elevated. Everything else is fluff as the swelling is due to saline solution which needs exit the body, via the face.

    Hi,

Wouldn't a dose of prednisone mitigate this?

and can you speak more in regards to Rahal and his use of saline, as I am not sure what you mean?

    Many thanks
