    Hair transplants using body hair

Hi, I have recently had my first consultation with a hair transplant surgeon and would appreciate some advice. For background, I am 33 and probably a Norwood 5. I used Propecia/Minoxidil for several years to very good affect but stopped a couple of years ago. The effect has been dramatic - going from Norwood 2->5 in that time. I stopped taking the drugs, as was a bit paranoid about using while trying for children. I now need to consider whether to 1) retry the drugs after children, say 3 years 2) go for a hair transplant? For (2), the doctor set I had average to low density, meaning I'd only get around 3000 grafts from the usual sides and I'd need more like 7000 for a full head (assuming I become a Norwood 6, likely). To make up the numbers, he would consider using some beard hair and body hair (chest).

My questions are therefore: 1) should I just wait a couple of years to try the drugs again or likely to be too late? 2) go for the body hair...has anyone on this forum had this done to any success...importantly to this scale?

If you are a norwood 5 then I don't see propecia doing that much for you. Though you do need to take it anyway because if you don't you will lose more and more coverage. You might gain a few hairs back if you get on it, so thats a good idea.
