    Dr. Lindsey discussing PRFM

Here is my philosophy and rationale for the use of platelet rich fibrin matrix in hair transplantation. To date, I've used it only with surgery, as a "fertilizer" to help grafts. I recognize that there may be some reason for doing a followup treatment at 3 or 6 months out...but have not performed that yet. And I do not believe that PRFM or any other non DHT blocking chemical will halt or reverse MPB. There are plenty of platelets and plasma/blood components all over balding guys' heads....putting more in will not reverse hairloss due to DHT, and will result in a transfer of hard earned currency without significant benefit. I suspect there are anecdotal responses to a variety of treatments, but as to the consistent and significant support of hair growth without transplantation, I don't think we currently have options other than Rogaine/Propecia and surgery.
