    HT Scar widenning?

I have heard that Tripoliphic ( or wheatever ) scar clousures in the back of the head will eventually become wider over time, does this happen with normal clousure as well?

Thanks guys, any information will be helpfull

Where did you hear this from? Your scar is going to stretch if you don't heal well, or you don't follow your doctors post op instructions. As far as I know, neither closure type results in stretching for any other reason

Tricho gives you the best potential of a less noticeable scar as the technique allows hair to grow through the scar. The larger the session you go for the more you put your variables under pressure and scars can stretch regardless of the technique used.

Just cause you have tricho closure doesn't mean the scar will not stretch as you and your physiology play a vital role in the scars outcome.

Just be aware that the same doc can perform the same closue and exact same size session on two different individuals and the sessions can literally be identical however the scars could well be COMPLETELY different, as patients physiology is different.

See these interesting videos of the "Feller Twins" - one had Tricho closure (Pete) the other had standard "old school "closure (Ian) prior to Tricho being used as standard at Feller Medical.

Regardless of these scars however just because Tricho closure is used doesnt mean you are guaranteed a scar like Petes.

Personally, I think the trico-closure is over-rated because the outcome of the appearance of a strip scar can depend on a number of factors. And if laxity is an issue, a trico could potentially be the worst technique to employ. It's not suitable for all patients.

That's why some docs will use staples rather than sutures to help ensure the scar from stretching post-op. That's what I had done last time.
