This 36-year-old gentleman had a hair loss pattern similar to a class 4v on the Hamilton Norwood hair loss scale. His goal was to rebuild his hairline, add density to the frontal 1/3-1/2 of his scalp and also add a little density into his crown.
As we discussed the patient’s goals, I emphasized that I would only be able to do some work in the crown in order to properly manage his expectations. He understood and we prioritized his goals. I created a surgical plan that carefully accounted for his age and the progression of his hair loss, paying close attention to creating a hairline that would be suitable for him as he continued to age, looked natural but also added some density to his crown.
A total of 2,500 grafts were used in the frontal 1/3-1/2 and 300 grafts were placed into the crown. These are his results 1 year post-op. The patient is extremely happy with his results and is presently on Finasteride 1mg and Rogaine to try and stop further hair loss.
