Hi Folks
John The builder here from the uk.
I'm 5 days post op 2500 FUT by Dr Harris in Nottingham UK, he is one of or the Only Hair transplant Surgeons in the UK that Also works for the UK National health service as a plastic Surgeon repairing peoples faces etc.
I did about 2 years and thousands of hours researching before i made my choice, he has 3000 Hair transplants under his belt and i met some 6 and 12 month follow up clients during a couple of random visits to the very busy surgery.
The whole surgery is classy and state of the art equipment everywhere.
I went in saturday at 7.30am, was in the chair by 8.00am and strip harvested by 9.00am after hair wash local injection etc.
From 9.00am till 9.30am Surgeon had stitched me up.
from 9.30 until 10.30 all the holes were cut for new grafts.
I was asked if i wanted a break but said lets just get stuck in and get it done.
I did go to the toilet and could see 5 x nurses at microscopes dissecting grafts.
The surgeon asked about lunch and i said i had a big breakfast so why don't we skip lunch and just crack on with it.
My thinking was the sooner the grafts are back in the less time they are out of my body.
As the grafts were dissected they were brought through for transplanting so this made it even quicker.
Two sets of 2 nurses on hour long shifts and they were all transplanted by 12.30 pm, and as i only lived 5 minutes away i was home by 1.00pm relaxing.
The cost was £4000 for for 2500 grafts but he said he would put more in if needed at no extra cost.
My wife is a nurse and she inspected and counted all the grafts via professional magnifier lamp and there was approx 2800 grafts of 1s 2s 3s and 4 hairs per graft.
My head is still slightly numb in just a few spots but getting better.
The Surgeon sat me down before we left and explained no work for 1 week, spray supplied saline every 15 minutes, no hair wash for 48 hours and special shampoo and washing technique.
Don't touch head for 10 days and then wash and shower as normal after 2 weeks.
I've Attached some photo's showing first 3 days and head looked calm but after day 4-5 looks red...is this normal.
Saline is Salt 'right'...well salt dries out skin? correct? i stopped at surgery as its only down the street from me and asked if i could put any healing cream on to soothe the redness and moisturise, the nurse said no just saline....is this Correct?....as in don't do it.
I'm taking vitamins and minerals as i usually do plus MSM crystal 1 teaspoon a day.
But on day 4 i feel me scalp is screaming out for some soothing/healing cream??
The area shown on my head was not all blad but was shaved for ease and to fill in any thin areas.
I was a norwood 4.
The first Photo's show my head quite calm but on day 4 getting red.
I assume its just natural as per this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiKu9sgFizY
