I just wanted to quickly share this article with you guys. Not to scare anyone, but this article is what made me realize the side effects I got from fin after 2 years. I'm not against anti androgens as I use RU now but they defintley are significantly important.
The role of DHT in males

Please answer my question.
If normal range of DHT is 10 - 100 and I have 200. I take fin that cuts my DHT level down to lets say 70. Is it still dangerous for body? and does DHT in normal levels still affect on MPB? or its just excessive DHT level that harms hair? -
I think it comes down to genetics and androgen sensitivity. I know for me I'm really sensitive to androgens. For example, I respond well to proecia but at the same time I get side effects. I respond well really well to androgenic steroids more than a lot of people. You could have normal DHT and still be balding just as fast as someone with high DHT. The best way would just start with a low dose and see how you feel, although I wouldn't suggest suppressing DHT in any amount if not needed.Comment

Seriously man...I'm not saying this wrong, but it all likelihood isn't correct. The internet is full of bad advice, and almost every single time the actual doctors will be your best bet. Listen to them, and don't read too much into stuff you read online.Comment

Sure as they figure out more some things turn out to be wrong but most people never know. I mean the biological model of those pseudo herms was they lacked 5-ar 2 and never had hair loss. No one ever mentions the 5-ar 3 enzyme that was discovered later on that propecia also inhibits. They probably never even knew it existed back when they made the biological model or even tested fin itself. Then later you realize fin also inhibits this different enzyme no one knew about at the time. Not to mention I dont remember mention of receptor layouts or counts in the biological model so who knows how that fits in too. Maybe pseudo herms lacked receptors or had an unusual pattern in addition to lacking DHT. Its not always so simple
We are adding numbers or something its messing around with a bunch of stuff no one has any clear idea what is really happening. Its hard to fix something accurately without knowing how it works and that is exactly what propecia and many drugs attempt to do. Its the best we have not knowing most of what goes on.Comment

To argue against myself though the role of androgens in MPB is unarguable at this point. Its a good guy bad guy hormone that most would agree you dont want to lower but its the sole option. Keep your hair and lower androgens or accept fate that is the current choice. Men arent taking the stuff for the fun of it
Also its worth saying that fin does not alter any DHT from the type 1 enzyme so the DHT most abundant in brain and skin is not altered by fin so you still have a fair amount of DHT its not being totally removed. Although the type 2 enzyme does alter DHT in the brain which is a bit of a bad thing.Comment

DHT is powerful and does have both positive physical and mental properties. The key is not just to have high DHT, but a proper balance between testosterone , estrogen and DHT. Anti androgens can disrupt that orchestra. The ideal hormone profile should be high testosterone, low estrogen with normal/high dht.Comment
