    Am I balding? Or just mature hairline... 18 years old

    I'm 18

    My mother has no balding in her family

    My dad is bald but ONLY started losing hair at 38ish and nobody else in his family is bald

    I have like a NWI but it can possible be because of my moms hairline which I got... its very broad and high.. I don't have those edges like most people have on their sideburns.. brad pitt has them or the "triangles" its just flat and goes up to my hairline

    anyway someone please tell me if im balding im ready to go on fin or propecia I really dont want to be bald by 20 years old

    anyway here is my hair from front and rigth and left side.. also those hairs are how many hairs fall out when i pull on my hair 5 times

          You have a receding hairline, the beginning of male pattern baldness. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. You've come to the right place.

                      yeah, go to your doc and ask for fin or dutasteride. the latter is stronger. i got on fin when i was about 23 and i'm 38 now. it has halted my hairloss (to the untrained eye you would say i have a full head of hair). i should mention though, that i have used other things as well. prp with acell has helped a ton as of late. thought i should mention that to give you hope.

                          Are you crazy? He isn't balding! The hairline looks fine. Guys here told mine looks fine and his hairline is similar to mine... He isn't balding... Please don't mislead him

                              That's your opinion, lelma & I gave mine. He's on here because he thinks he might be receding. He should know his body better than anyone, and if he thinks changes are occurring to his hair line he's probably right. There's no harm in going to a doc that specializes in hair loss and getting a professional's opinion. Better safe than sorry. For his sake, lelma, I hope you're right....but his temples appear to have recessed.

                                      Definitely looks like a receding hairline. I would hop on Finasteride. Reassess after one year. You may want to get Minoxidil in the foam version to just rub on your hairline. All the best. Start treatments early. This is the key to success!

                                          To me it looks like you are starting to thin at the temples. Some people will look at your hair and say nothing is going on because everybodys hair is different thickness to begin with. But only you know your hair. If you are noticing things that you didnt notice in the past that is a sure sign. Eg washing your hair and noticing hairs in your hands, I never ever noticed this before I starting thinning. Usually first it starts to receed then it will start to thin. Look at old photos and take pics to keep track on you progress/recess.


                                          The earlier you get on Fin the better chance you have of saving what you got. Dont leave it too late and have regrets.
