Hi everyone,
The first thing I'd like to point out is that I just recently turned 30 (on May 2013), and I've NEVER experienced any episode of hair loss before, so I was (and still am) pretty shocked. In fact, until now, I used to have a full head of thick hair.
So, here is my story: on late August I began to notice a thinning of my temples (especially the right one) after I had my hair cut. Since it was only a mild recession, I didn't care too much about it until my next haircut on early October. Then, the thing got worse: temple recession was more noticeable (though still moderate) and, furthermore, I had a widespread thinning over my entire scalp (with particular incidence on the crown).
The interesting bit is that on the same period, I have been losing a lot of weight (13 kg/28 lb over a period of 7 months), as a result of an intense workout (weight lifting/aerobic training 3/4 days per week) and a moderate hypocaloric diet. The hairloss started about 3 to 4 months after I began my weight loss program.
After conducting some research, I came to the conclusion that I was suffering from an episode of TE, but the thinning on the temples/crown still worried me. I started taking a multivitamin supplement 3 months ago (which btw is very complete: it includes the RDI of almost every mineral and vitamin, including biotin) and I have noticed only a very small improvement.
So, what do you guys think about my particular case? Maybe the TE has triggered an early AGA? Will I ever regain the hair on my temples? In fact, the change has not been so dramatic thus far, but it still bothers me and makes me wonder if it's going to progress any further.
Any feedback on the subject will be more than welcomed.
Thanks in advance.
