The first Kesimpta injection was on January 27th at noon. By around 7–8 PM that evening, I developed a fever. I took one ibuprofen, and the fever went away overnight. The next day I felt extremely tired and had no energy at all.
The second and third injections were similar — I experienced significant fatigue the day after each injection. After that, however, I basically didn’t notice any side effects from the later injections.
In February and March, for reasons I’m not sure about, I had two menstrual periods in each of those months. My doctor said it’s probably not related to Kesimpta. I’ve always had a very regular menstrual cycle before, only once per month. I later had gynecological examinations, and the doctor considered possible PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) and prescribed treatment. After that, my menstrual cycle returned to normal.
After my fourth injection, I had several blood tests, including CD20, coagulation screening, immunoglobulin levels (Ig), and a complete blood count (CBC). The results were basically normal, with no major issues.
I also noticed something subjective: self-injecting feels less painful for me. The first three injections were done by my family, and they felt more painful—maybe because of the injection technique or the amount of pressure applied. For the last two months, I’ve been injecting myself, and it actually hurts less. Even so, I still need a bit of mental preparation before doing it.
This is just my personal experience and how I’ve felt so far.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? For example, stronger reactions during the first few Kesimpta injections and then almost no side effects afterward? Or has anyone else experienced fatigue or changes in their menstrual cycle while using Kesimpta?
