I don't know if you will find this consoling or not, but you are sooo very young. Lets say for arguments sake you lose your hair very quickly in the next few years. There will likely be a "cure"'for MPB in the next 5 or so years. You buzz it for a few years and can likely have a full head of hair again by the time you are 24. Many people may argue over the time horizon for said "cures", my point is simply its far from a life sentance for you.

The corners are definitely getting there, yeah. But the hairline at his widow's peak still almost touches the highest wrinkle on his forehead. His widow's peak needs to 'recede' quite a bit for the mature hair line to be complete.

Obviously this is bugging you. Do not accept what members of this forum are telling you. Get yourself to a doctor who specializes in treating hair loss. In fact, go see two or three of them.

I don't know if you have MPB, but I say your hair line would at least be dramatically oval for a person without MPB.

I had quite that same oval shape at 19 or 21. It has remained quite the same for 10 years, except for 2cm higher and somewhat thinner corners, which bothers me really, even though some lose it much more quickly.

"Mid/late 80's bald on top with hair around the side, however saw a picture of him in his 30's and he had a full head of hair with only the most minimal recession."
Bet he had plenty of thinning going on, at least beyond the hair line. Whoever's good at styling his hair will surely fool the camera, even if the photo was not shot in the dark. Your halloween picture btw is crap

Still not a good picture but your hair seems really thick. If your not loosing over 150+ a hairs a day, I wouldn't worried.

So here is Update number 3! I'm now 18. New symptoms, I've noticed and itchy burning feeling on my scalp and I have quite a lot of lose skin on my scalp too? I count hairs that come off my head throughout the day and they only ever equal about 8-15. And I read you lose about 50-100 single hairs a day. So what do you guys think? Personally I think it's got a tad worse, but is still roughly the same. And also take into account that my hair is a lot longer in these pictures than it is in the other posts! Oh! And there's something else too, my family history!

    Family History:

    Mothers side:
Grand Father: 70/80 - Still most hair. recedes at the temples
First Brother (Uncle): 40/50 very slight recession at the temples
Second Brother (Uncle): Bald at late 20's/ early 30's however still has the remainder of his hairline and went bald on top instead of receded

    Father's Side
My father: Mid 50's has the horse shoe shaped hairline and just starting to lose on crown, still has relatively thick remaining hair. When I asked him about recession at my age he said he couldn't remember as he always had long hair so never noticed anything.
Father's father(Grandfather): Mid/late 80's bald on top with hair around the side, however saw a picture of him in his 30's and he had a full head of hair with only the most minimal recession.

So what do you guys think?

    Thanks!
