    13 month Update:

Only good things to say. I have grown my hair long (have not cut it for 2.5 months now)... Wash my hair almost twice everyday (as I go to the gym), and hair fall is minimal.

Hair has surely grown stronger, and with the long hair there is absolutely no way of telling that I have lost hair at my temples... The feeling is great and the long hair actually looks good now.

    Zero side effects.

    ~Michael

I’ve been on Propecia for several years also, and have only had a good experience. I agree that most men do very well on the medication.

I think most guys who take Propecia feel fine. Not everyone gets great results, but most guys will not have any side effects. My Goal was to just keep my hair from getting worse. So far so good and I’ve been on it for a few years now.

I feel the same... check out my post where I have posted some pics.. The thread is 2 pages long. Progressive photo diary. I really on't know whether this stuff wil work for me or not! :S

Hi, I'm 20 yr old of Asian origin and I have been using Regaine (Rogaine for US guys) for 40 days.. Only at night since I am unable to apply it during the day. Dont' think its done any good. Mum & dad suffer from hair loss. Anyway as you can see my condition is extremely serious! What stage is this at? What do you

I'm now about 2 weeks short of 52 weeks on propecia. When I started I had what I believed to be fairly modest hopes to retain my remaining hair density and not to expect any regrowth.

I'm very pleased that so far my hopes have been fulfilled and that as far as I can tell the thinning has either stopped completely or is continuing so slowly so as to be imperceptible over only 1 year. I don't think there has been any regrowth but whilst it would have been welcome it wasn't something I expected.

As far as I can tell I haven't experienced any side effects. And certainly nothing related to sexual functions. A couple of months into taking propecia I did think I might have some dark rings about my eyes but if they were related to propecia they soon disappeared, and could well be entirely unrelated. I do believe that some people do get hit by some pretty nasty side effects so I can understand why some people are so put off taking it but I felt it was worth the risk and thankfully I've been fortunate. However I did delay taking it a couple of years because I was afraid of the side effects and I just wish I'd been braver sooner as I could have been retaining far more density than I am now by delaying it a couple of years.

I don't have any area that is completely smooth as in hairless but my hair is noticeably thinner on the crown and just behind the hairline. I seem to have like a bridge of thicker hair across the middle of my head between these two areas. I've usually had my hair cut short, grade 1 on top and 0.5 on the sides to try to balance the the different density and that was teamed with an extensive collection of hats! However since taking propecia I've tended to go a bit longer, 3 on the sides and then a little longer than that on top. I also tried using a concealer for the first time just last week called nanogen nanofibres. It's actually quite awesome! After I've put it on, the thinning areas just don't look thin anymore and it feels great to go out without a hat and not feel like my hair is noticeably thinner than ayone else's. The ads say it takes 30 seconds to apply but I've found it takes a few minutes. I guess I'll get quicker though as I get used to it. Well worth trying something like that or toppik or viviscal though if you haven't already as you might find it works well for you too. It seems to stand up to wind fine as well. I drive a convertible which was definite hat territory with the roof down but I've driven with the nanofibres on and no hat and they haven't blown away at all so that's good. I need to do a rain test when the weather turns.

    Still, overall feeling positive.

GreatSage, well after like about 5 to 6 months, I felt my hair wouldn't break loose easily, and there was lesser shed.. My frontal hairline had been receding considerably but in the last 6-7 months that has stopped...

ulanude, good for you... dont take the med...

Read this. And the sides described in the artile are the least I would be concerned with (in the UK they now have to write since 2011 it in their information leaflet that it can cause male breast cancer...).

Some doctors in the US and Ireland claim anti-baldness drug Propecia can cause sexual problems like impotence and should have better labelling.

The Finpecia I get from unitedpharmacy and inhousepharmacy are also manufactured by Cipla.

Anyways at what point did you realize your hair fall had decreased and how were you able to tell? I'm currently near 6 months on the big 3 but haven't had any noticeable improvements yet.

The supposedly fake medicine was bought at http://www.pharmstore.com and www.Pharmacy2Home.com ... I actually had ordered at 2 places.. One never showed up, and one did.. Don't recall which one did show up though.

    Medication:
1.First 30 days, Propecia bought from Walgreens @50+$ for 30 tabs
2.Next 10 - 15 days, consumed Tabs bought from internet. I honestly believe this was fake medicine. Hence my advise for you folks to not buy online
    3.Next 10 months , finpecia, bought directly from India(by a friend), for around 25$ for 300 tabs.
Which site was the fake meds from and the Finpecia you currently use is it the same ones from unitedpharmacy and inhousepharmacy?

Day#1: Immediately after popping the pill, like after 20 minutes I felt anxious. No way could the medicine be digested that fast and actually effect me. I realized it was just in my mind after having read tonnes of material on its ill effects. I went out to play and forgot about the fact that i've taken the pill. All went fine

Day#2: I started feeling good. I do believe Propecia works in the long run, and I started thinking of all the good that can happen. I am young(26 yrs), muscular, relatively good looking, and with no more hair fall, that would seriously be a blast For the past several years I was trying to come to terms with the fact that my hair will be gone soon, but with this drug, I have hope. And trust me guys, HOPE will overrule any possible side effect if any. I started to think more of the benefits and care less of the sides.

I workout daily and will see if this will effect my muscle growth or potential to lift weights. It's simple, if I can't lift what I could lift yesterday, then the drug is effecting me negatively...
    Take apicture every week.

As of this week, I will have been using Proscar for exactly 1 year.

    Has it worked?

    I think so.

When I started using it, I had very little hair left on the top of my head. I can kind of cover that up with long hair on the side and back of my head (except when the wind blows).

I think I have roughly the same amount of hair that I had when I started on it. If I have less, then it is not much less. But I definitely don't have more hair or fuller, thicker, better quality hair.

I've seen a lot more hair fall over the past few weeks but I think that may be due to using hair product which I had been off for some time. I think the hair wax breaks my hair and weakens it but I kind of need to use it to try and make my hair style less goofy.

I have experienced side effects in a definite loss of libido and weaker, less frequent erections. Regardless, I am going to continue using Proscar as I think it's helped me maintain my hair over the year.
