Long time since my last update.
STOPPED use of Propecia In October 2014 after 3 years 7 months of continuous use.
My hair looked great, and hair fall normalized big time. There was absolutely no evidence of any hair fall. I was very satisfied with the outcome.
However the following happened:
1. Right from my teenage years I would always wake up in the morning with an erection. Most likely due to the testosterone build up overnight. This was all subconscious and something which was part of my life for the last 15 years
2. An erection during intercourse would easily last for 15 to 20 minutes.
3. However after like 15 to 18 months into using Propecia, I never woke up with an erection. Life style remained the same, and the only difference was procecia. This I ignored. But I could also not hold an erection during intercourse for more than 4 - 5 minutes. I knew propecia was causing this. I still chose to ignore
4. A year ago I got married, and now that my wife and I plan to make babies, I decided to stop taking propecia, and totally stopped worrying about my hair. If it goes, it is how it is.
Three months have passed since I stopped taking Procecia. Guess what? My morning erection is back .I get an erection starting at around 4am and persists on and off till almost 7am till I wake up. All this is subconscious , but it is something I can easily perceive. My erection during intercourse now easily lasts 12 to 15 minutes. I believe I am getting back to how I was and I am happy about it
For me worrying about hair fall is in the past, mostly because my wife loves me not for my hair. Either way if hair does wither out, it will be a Jason Statham look.

I've also been on it for 2 years and have had almost exactly the same results. The only difference is my hair quality hasn't improved. Just stabilized.Leave a comment:

Going on 8 and a half months since I started taking this drug, with fairly mixed results.
I would say my hair quality goes up and down, the hair is definitely maintaining relatively the same, which at least is a positive, but I was hoping for a little more improvement by now.
no erection or sexual problems at all, Im the same as I was before(I take 1mg a day, proscar cut up)
Shedding is still going on up and down, so that's why I say the hair quality is all over the place(some weeks I find it looks improved, others slightly worse), im HOPING this means something will regrow, but it's been a while with minimal positive results.
with 3 months left heres hoping for something more, otherwise my next step may be getting my hands on some latisse/bim, want to try something new, still 2-3 years from the next gen of products.Leave a comment:

I was thinking about take just 0.5mg everyday as opposed to 1mg ..

2 year update:
I still use the thing, and surely my hair fall has subsided. My hair quality has improved a little..
Getting erections is no issue, but morning erection has surely reduced.
With that being said, I will still take this for a couple more years.

yeah, finasteride doesn't have any side effects... don't you listen to Spencer? You prolly don't wake up with erections anymore because you are telling yourself that this shit has side effects... but don't believe it.. Spencer says it's bullshit. It's all in your head LOL....Leave a comment:

I've been on the stuff since February 2012. I don't think I've lost too much hair since starting with it. I'm praying it will continue to do it's job until something better comes around.
I don't wake up with erections anymore but I'm capable of having sex when I'm lucky enough to get the opportunity.Leave a comment:

Thanks for tracking your usage of this drug bro, I'm 20 and considering it. I decided if I do take it and get any lasting side effects, I will kidnap all the CEO's of merk and shave their heads.Leave a comment:

Vellus hairs? I dont think so... I certainly did have thinning though, and seeing that my doctor first put me on Propecia... I just googled for pictures of vellus hairs and I dont recall observing such hair...
I had hair-fall throughout resulting in a loss of density. The thinning just compounded this... I started seeing appreciable blank spots at my temples which is when I decided it is high time to go on to Propecia... I also had a localized thinning spot at my crown.
With Propecia the overall density of hair has improved, mostly because of the slight increase in average thickness ... No re-growth what so ever at the temples though, but the long hair does its job to conceal that... At the crown though I see a marked improvement in hair quality causing that spot to kinda cover up (the long hair again helps this)..
I bought a motorbike recently, and started wearing a helmet daily... The slight sweat in the heat combined with the helmet give the hair a slight messy look with hair thrown randomly on my forehead.. I love this look and decided to keep the long hair look for good.
I guess I started out somewhere between Norwood II and Norwood IIA .. and I guess now I am norwood II...Leave a comment:

Sounds awesome man, so it definitely worked for you in the regard that you have not lost any further hair. In that case this is great as future products will be able to help you and possibly be cheaper for you than if you went all the way to NW7!
Question though, did you have any vellus hairs when you started on propecia? By Vellus hairs I mean hairs that were half minimized and very thin but still noticable when you look closer(they look white and frail)Leave a comment:

Its been close to 17 months since I started .... Big BIG reduction in hair fall, to an extent where hair fall which happens is akin to that of a normal person without mpb ...
Hairline stays as is... Hair has surely become slightly thicker and I have been growing my hair long, so absolutely no evidence that I have a receded hairline at my temples.... I am happy with the results thus far, and hair-loss isn't a concern anymore ! And there has been no side effects...
At the 18 month point, I plan to take a testosterone check, and keep comparing henceforth every 6 months....Leave a comment:

I did get my mpb gene from my Maternal grandfather. So did my brother.. my elder brother did nothing and he hardly has any hair left now!
But, just because we have mpb in our genes, it does not mean we should not have offspring.. that's taking it a tad too far!Leave a comment:

I don't know... I'm seriously considering if it would be fair of me to procreate having been lumbered with this mpb curse and seeing how it has affected me and others. Even though my mpb is not as severe as some, it's really picking up pace now at 30yrs and I'd hate to pass it on to any offspring... The only other baldness in my family that I'm aware of is my maternal grandfather who was nw6-7! So there is a strong ****in gene in there somewhere
. I'm hoping that genetic screening will come into play in the next few years. I really think this will be the only hope for future generations.

You should respect your father, disrespecting him over something as trivial as balding which most males suffer from is mad!Hey Hurts, who the **** do you think you are to tell me what to think or not to think about my father ? Don't stick your ****ing nose in someone else's personal life. That's first.
So you're basically saying he shouldn't have started a family or lived his life normally because he was BALD? Living your life normally at the expense of your children IS what being self-centered is all about, dumb ****. When you KNOW you're passing bad genes to your children but you insist on doing it anyway to satisfy your selfish desires at best is what I'm against. When a father for example who has dwarfism marries a woman who has it too and they decide to have children the only thing people can think of is "they have the right to have a family blah blah blah.." What idiots like you don't ever want to think about is the child who's being born to be cursed with whatever jacked genes his parents have without him/her ever having a say in the matter, and then having to live a ****ed up life of suffering because his ****ing parents "wanted to start a family.." Obviously the vast majority of people NEVER see it this way. Of course when the child is born with whatever deformity every body starts blaming god somehow. Well, like I said, you're too dumb for this and I'm not going to waste time on you.
So yeah, I'm "blaspheming" my father. If you have a problem with it go **** yourself or don't read what I have to say and DONT stick your nose in people's personal lives that you know nothing about.Leave a comment:

Sounds good michael. Glad to see someone getting results.
I'm 6 months or so into using fin but sadly only have had increased shedding and ruined hairline density
trying to stay positive!
I'm sticking with it though... Posts like yours give some hope!
