I know people are going to say that there is no possible way, but hear me out. I was prescribed the antidepressant Celexa a month ago. Just a few days after starting I noticed way more hair shedding. I would start sifting through my hair over my sink and see a ton of hairs. I am very self concious of my hair, so I know that this wasn't the regular amount of hairs that would fall out. After almost 2 weeks i got too spooked and decided to stop Celexa to see if it was the culprit. The day after I stopped taking it I noticed my hair shed was reduced dramatically and by a few days the hair shedding was at normal, like it was before I began. Sadly my already thin hair had taken a pretty bad hit in those 2 weeks. After about a week I thought that maybe this hair loss that I experienced was normal and season or something. I decided to start celexa again and EXACTLY 2 DAYS LATER THE INCREASED SHEDDING BEGAN!!! I got off of it immediately and the next day my hair shedding went back to normal.
Is there ANY possible explanation for what I went through? I know Telogen Effluvium would take months to occur, so It can't really be that. Maybe i'm allergic to the medication or something? Someone please respond and tell me what they think
