22 with significant hair loss!! Help!!

It's not great having a receding hairline when you have had a operation as a baby with noticeable scars and bumps if the hair was not there.

It looks like medication would be a starting point and If that is ineffective then i would consider ht or an artificial ht or wig I guess. None of us have the best of luck

No problem. Hope you are feeling better about yourself in general.

If you start proven medications now, you probably won't have any hair related issues. And
you won't need a HT later in life.

A hair transplant doesn't grow in for quite some time. It might actually be a year or 18 months
before the hair starts growing back in.

My issue was I didn't take Propecia (one milligram Finasteride) in my twenties or thirties. I'm
taking it now in my forties. Not a good time to start.

Completely understand where you're coming from. My head has bumps on it.

Hair is very hard to grow back. My treatments are very aggressive. It's because I didn't
do enough to treat it in my twenties. Currently I'm in my forties.

Early twenties is a good time to start.

Not trying to scare you, but I've had friends who had HT and have parts of their
scalps where the scars show.

Hi dude! Thank you for your reply it's much appreciated! I am actually from the UK and I am currently using alpecin caffeine shampoo and have been for a few months.

I am considering trying finasteride and minoxidil as recommended by a hair loss clinic a while back.

I think surgery or an artificial hair transplant is probably going to be my only possible solutions.

wig? What about hair systems? wigs sucks bro. And even so, I'm not sure if hair systems give you that natural, DECENT density hair.. Most I see around here are placed in a way wher u end up with a 5 inches forehead..

If you are in USA you have plenty of options. Medications like finasteride, dutasteride, minoxidil are the first line of action. If not satisfied with the results go for hair transplant. If not achieving density through transplant opt of scalp micropigmentation. Wigs can also help but it should be your last option.

I am 22 years old with significant hair loss and it is seriously starting to affect my confidence and self esteem to the point where I don't want to go out in public.

When I was a baby I was born with Craniosynostosis which is where I had 2 bones in my skull joined together. I had surgery to separate them and now have a scar from one side of my head all the way to the other and to have this showing due to hairloss would be devastating to my already non existant confidence.

Please can someone suggest the best options which I could take!!!
