    Is this MPB?

I'm on a series of harsh medications for Crohn's disease and I'm not sure if I have MPB or medicine related hairloss, or both.

I noticed my hairline is receded a bit, but it has been that way for 4 years now (since I was 18). However the top and sides are way thinner.

The area here in red for example is a lot thinner than the hair behind it.

The lighting is actually hiding some of the thinning, but you can see it in the sideburns. But I assure you the whole area in red is probably 50% thinner than the area just to the left of it.

I've never seen side thinning with MPB so I'm unsure what to do.

Im sure other people are more qualified than me but I dont think side thinning has anything to do with MBP. I would see a doctor.

IT sure seems like it pal, I'm also thinning on my right side. Try to see a hair specialist.

Hi, I have just come across your post here as I have been noticing something similar myself. I too seem to be having thinning hair on the side of my head in the sideburns and just above and incidentally suffer from ulcerative colitis - very similar to Crohn's. Just wanted to know if you ever figured out the cause and/or managed to reverse the effect? Sorry to bump but this has been eating away at me for a while!

Hey. Unfortunately no. On the plus, it never got worse! For the longest time I thought it was some of the medicines we take, but I actually got off all medicine in late 2014. No changes.

I’ve had vitiamin and nutritional tests since this post and everything comes out fine but Vitamin D. I know vitamin D is a debated topic when it comes to hairloss, but I can honestly never get my levels to a normal range because every time I try to supplement, I get kidney stones lol.

Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful. For what it’s worth the back of neck hair was also thin back then too (the hairline), but never got worse. To throw another wrinkle into this, the other side of my head isn’t even close to be as thin and never caught up to the other side lol.
