Should I start Finasteride right now?

Stress played a big part in my life last year and it caused my hair to recede at quite a rapid rate.

Now when you see this image of my hair you’re probably like that isn’t so bad, and you’re right. However, when it is compared to the hairline I had at 17 the difference is definitely there - my hairline was completely straight. I don’t have photos of my previous hairline as I have never actually wore my hair styled up and never felt inclined to photograph my hairline.

I believe I’m sitting at a Norwood 2, could be wrong but seems correct. I shaved my hair and that only accentuates this so I’m just going to come to terms with this and see if I can somehow feel more confident as time goes on.

I was thinking about starting Finasteride, a friend of mine recommended minoxidil but he’s been using it for 2 years and there’s not been a significant change - he said so himself so I don’t know why he recommended it. He’s made the switch to Finasteride and after reading extensively into it I think I might too.

    The question however is:

Is it truly worth it with the way my hairline is now?

The reason I ask this is because I’ve noticed less hair on the pillow in the last couple months (I shaved yesterday btw), less miniaturisation and my hair has NEVER showed signs of thinning.

Do you think it’s possible my hairline has just adjusted to a Norwood 2 (or whatever this is on the scale) or do you think the likelihood of progression right now (in the next few years not in the long run) is quite high?

Hope everyone is well in the midst of all that is going on right now.
