This is my 1st post here. Long story, I just turned 45 live in Illinois and I am considering a transplant. I noticed hair loss in a mirror 20 years ago. Spoke to a dr and the first thing he recommends was to take a drug, must of been propecia, because the first thing he says “take off your shirt”. I am like why? He says so I can see your breasts. I said why again. He said so he can check them again after I been on the medication if there was any change. Nope. I was done right then and there. I ain’t taking medication that is going to change my body that way. Fast forward to 2015 and I walked into a clinic for a HT consultation. They prayed on the vulnerability of people. Basically a sales pitch with a high price tag, never met the dr. I walked out and thought what a scam. 25k and I can’t even meet with the dr. Nowadays I am researching surgeons to see what can be done. I had a consultation scheduled later this month, but obviously COVID-19 shut that down. Now scheduled for May 4th. My hair loss has not changed much to me in the last 10 years. It kind of fell out between 25-35 years of age. But I am ready to change my appearance. The clinic dr saw my pics and said I am a candidate, probably need two sessions. I will be checking this forum out and looking for similar patients to my case. And hopefully gain insight to a few good surgeons to consult with.
