I went with jason naturals ginseng and biotin conditioner but it was dreadful for me. I only used it a week but couldn't stick with it as it made my hair very thin and brittle.. Will have a look in my store next time I go. I am in the UK and the only ones I have seen in the supermarket are by tresemme and I have already tried those. Is there anything you'd recommend I look for? Sorry for double quoting you -
Ha I had seen it posted a few times on here that the effectiveness of minoxidil wanes after a certain period. I guess I should start using it then if this isn't true! The other thing that concerned me was that i had heard it can cause an initial shed that doesn't grow back on some people? Is this also a stupid myth of mine?Leave a comment:

yes but I heard it only helps with the crown and at 47 my crown is still covered.
Will it help for the hair on top?

He's saying it does in deed take a year to even see results and that thinking Rogaine's effects only last 1 year is absurd.
Get on it. You are already on fin aren't you?Leave a comment:

Hey Chris
I was under the impression that it takes a year and the effects can last decades.
I am still on the fence about it but may start on it soon.Leave a comment:

I settled on the twice per week approach re using Nizoral 2%. From memory several fin studies that produced good results had their participants use it 2-4 times per week. There were also a lot of guys that used it twice per week when I was scowering forums when I first started to think about any kind of HL treatment (although to be fair you will likely find the same number of posts suggesting using Niz once per week, or every other day etc!).
Anyway I started that (2% Niz twice a week) around 15 months ago and believe it has helped me.Leave a comment:

For future reference, you can buy sulfate free shampoo and conditioner in your local stores. There is no need to shop for anything special or high priced. Just make sure it's sulfate free.
Since you have the 2% prescription strength Nizoral, you should only use that once a week. Not twice a week.Leave a comment:

Where was it reported that minoxidil only lasts a year? It takes a year before you can even review its full result, let alone that being the entire time span of its overall effectiveness.Leave a comment:

Thanks man, will check out those items you mentioned. I'm NW1.5 or so atm so experimenting first i guess.I don't know about proven natural MPB treatments. But supposedly, Taurine, Green Tea Extract, Grapeseed extract, zinc, emu oil, are good to fight hair loss. But then again I never used these, and would never use them without being fin and minoxidil, which I think would be pointless because then I would not know what's working.
About Woodyy being lucky that he did not get sides, no, I don't think so. You are actually unlucky if you get sides.
Really? I have seen countless times people complaining of libido/penis problems on here.Leave a comment:

Hmmm you were lucky though right to get no sides? I can't take the risk. Would rather save up for a hair transplant personallyJust try fin, honestly I really thought I was going to get sides as well but as of yet I'm completely fine.
Unless someone has frequented sites like this they wouldn't think you're suffering from even the slighest amount of hairloss and fin will almost definitely retain what you've got for years to come.Leave a comment:

Thanks for the reply. From what you listed, the only thing that is proven to fight male pattern baldness is Nizoral.
For a regular shampoo use something with no SLS.
Biotin, MSM, multivitamins are not known to slow down, stop or regrow hair in men with MPB. But for the the overall health of hair Biotin and MSM are good, and a multivitamin is good for your health.
You say you're trying to stay away from finasteride and minoxidil, but just know that those are two most proven hair loss treatments for MPB.
I can't really suggest anything else. Stay with Nizoral 2% and try a natural route. But like I said yesterday, waiting is the worst thing you can do with MPB. In the pictures you showed however, I don't see much frontal balding, if any at all but you say it has gotten worse now.
I have ordered some natural shampoos with no SLS. Went for the jason natural ones with biotin because they are cheap. Nizoral 2% worked really well for a bit but now not so much. Scalp itches a day after using it and my hair is so dry/coarse. Maybe I overused it. But that is why I was asking about regenepure/revita.
Noted that biotin/msm are not proven to slow down hair loss. Are there any natural supps that are effective in any way? I cannot risk the libido/impotence issues of finasteride at 21. Might have to consider minoxidil...Leave a comment:
