Hopefully if I get my bald patch at the crown done next then it will help the appearance significantly.
Also hopefully with HSI they can give me more density around my existing hair.
Can't believe I'm almost wishing I was completely slick bald.
I've just had my procedure with Dr. Gho and want to share the results

you can wait for balding process to finish but it could be another 3 or 5 years,
the problem with you now is that as you are still in the middle of balding process and lot of hair are still to be lost, 1500 grafts a year will just maybe keep up with you loss, in another words even after 3 procedures you might still look the sameLeave a comment:

I'm starting to think maybe I should have waited until I'd gobe completely bald.
That way I'd end up with more density... If it is more difficult to add density around existing hairs.
Although to be honest atleast this way I might enjoy what's left of my 20s a bit more.Leave a comment:

But "full head of hair" is always "relatively" ... That means, due to your still existing hairs - they can't implant HST grafts too close to them or in between them. So far, they can only try to fill up the biggest "gaps" on one hand, replacing "weak" or already miniaturized hairs on the other hand. So you will not get an extremely high density thereafter - but definitely not an almost slick bald scalp thereafter.
And finally, there is another scenario involved:
Let's say, you get in the coming 2-3 years your 2nd and 3rd HST procedure.
After getting these procedures and all implanted hairs grew out, at the same time or maybe somewhat later, it could be possible that you will look like as TODAY. Why?
Because you WILL lose your still existing hairs due to AGA - and thereby density again. When this happens - you'll need further procedures, until a big part of your AGA-affected hairs are replaced ...Leave a comment:

Cheers IronMan
So do you think if I had another 1 or 2 procedures (making 3 in total), I'd have a full head of hair and then after that it wouldn just be a matter of topping up every few years?Leave a comment:

In general and all in all, you will need at least around 10,000 grafts - minimum, earlier or later.
The "good news" is,
you can achieve this simply STEP-BY-STEP. That means, every few years or so (in your case due to still existing hairs) a further HST procedure, and nobody will ever know that you had hair transplants.Leave a comment:

Hi all
Could you take a look atr these photos taken just before my procedure and give me an estimate of my Norwood Rating and the number of grafts needed to achieve a full head of hair.
Please note these were taken before I had 1423 grafts added to my hairline and front half of my scalp.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.Leave a comment:

Did you read ...
Below a 33-year-old AGA patient (its, of course, NOT damielmillo!!): 10 years before, the guy had a full head of hair and, of course, not such severe thinning in his donor area Transplanting such a guy in his 20s, would have given him only a temporary benefit in the (balding) recipient area. damielmillos
... this post today?
Initially, they said "We hope we can get 800 grafts from your donor area!"- I thought "what the f.....??"
This is no joke. That's what they said, because NOBODY knew how much grafts they will finally be able to extract from MY donor area.
If they would have promised me "We can get with ease 1800 grafts or so" - und finally they would end up with just 900 grafts or so, due to scarring, curved follicles etc etc whatever the reason - THEN I would be indeed really pissed.
And THAT's exactly THE reason, why they initially always tell you a lower number. And if they indeed can't get a bigger number - there MUST be a (or several) reason.Leave a comment:

i was answering question c5000 asked..anyway to answer yr question
180cm of bald area, even with low density 35g/cm2 it will take 6000 grafts+
traditional fue cant deliver enough grafts to cover whole area, i would hve to use combo of 4000 head hair and the rest would be BH which i have but my beard is too thick, strong, then again i d have 4000 fue dots in the back of my head which i dont like at all
thats where HST comes in to solve d problem of limited donor
hasci said id need 5500 -6000 for 'good' coverage but id have start with 1400 grafts,
meaning if they never increase my sessions i'd have to go there 4 times every 9 months or so..
small sessions are pain in the A@#, if i could do 2 x 3000 id be over the moon, or 3 x 2000 will be fine..
hope they increase that soon, besides grafts over 1800 are dirt cheap..2.5 euros for 1 graft
im 30 something..
my concerns, well, it will take 3-4 years to see final result,

Why don't you simply start a new thread, and this thread is just about YOU?
I mean, why don't you explain (even with some photos or so) in a new thread what's your (hair)problem and what exactly are YOUR concerns?
NOBODY on this planet can give you an advice without knowing any details.
Are you a good candidate for hair transplants in general??
- How about your scalp donor area?
- Age?
- How is the quality of your scalp donor area?
- How about your body hairs?
- How BIG is the size of your hairless areas?
- etc etc
Would be a good start - don't you think?Leave a comment:

I'll take the photos anyway and put them up for anyone that is interested. I could document the improvement every month.
On a side note, how many grafts typiacllly would it take to bring somone from a Norwood 7 up to a Norwood 1.
I have no idea what Norwood I am as I have diffuse thinning and apparently female pattern baldness, but it would be good to know how many I wouldn need if I was destined to be norwood 7.
NW6s start from about 200cm2 of balding area, then you have big heads with up to 300cm2...the smaller the head the less expensive its gonna be
Gho densities start from 30-35g/cm2 to 60 g/cm2....
do the mathLeave a comment:

I do have to agree to IM here (for once). Sure, maybe you'll see 'improvement' but it's likely you'll keep on shedding for another month. At least I did. I think I've retained about 40% of my grafts. So, of course, the more pictures the merrier, but a 1 month picture isn't going to reveal much ...Leave a comment:

I'll shave my hair to exactly the same length as it was in the photos that Hasci took immediately before they shaved my head for the procedure.
As I have retained maybe 70% of my grafts so far, you should be able to see some improvement.
I will then shave my head without a guard to look at the donor.Leave a comment:
