Guys it was already concluded that according to that Indian database Nigam has a bachelor degree and that's enough in India to perform surgery. As of sunday morning Nigam promised me to send his certificates, he still hasn't done that, not sure what to think of that, I've sent him several reminders. I've also sent an email today to Dr Anjali, she was the one who claimed in an Indian newspaper that Nigam didn't have the right papers to perform surgery. I asked her to clarify.
I'll update once I have more info. But at the moment it seems that he is at least allowed to operate. Of course there are still a zillion other issue's, but at least he doesn't seem to be performing surgery illegally.
Couldn't anyone just pay to go on that DB in India and become a Dr? If you've got money you can buy just about anything in India, no?
I reckon Arashi could become a Dr tomorrow if he splashed a bit of cash.

Yeah he has been one of the only decent docs in the UK for a long time. His transplants are a little too conservative and sparse for my taste for the most part, but he is ethical and not a hack as far as I know.
Agreed, he also put quite a bit of effort into Intercytex HM, but we all know how that ended Intercytex
The only disappointment for me was the suggestion of a scalp reduction followed by a hair transplant. Something I would never consider, but he was an honest decent Dr.

His wiki page says he woked for the NHS and regulations are very strict here in Britain so im sure he is legit. He seems very genuine too, doesn't sell lots of unproven stuff on his website andd won't normally do hts for under 25s because of risk of further progressn.
Bessam farjo is one the most well known hair transplant surgeons in the UK. I have met him a couple of times, he is the guy that suggested a scalp reduction for me in 2011. Pretty sure he is a proper Dr though! Whenever hair transplants are discussed in the media or via BBC he is never shy to voice his opinion.

Hahaha and now he emails me that a lot of top doctors only have bachelor degrees and he mentions the name of "Dr Arvind Poswal" which I just looked up is ... an Indian guy too. Hehe. Furthermore he mentions "Bessam farjo practicing in UK is also MBBS", haven't checked him out yet.

I just emailed dr Anjali to explain herself when she said Nigam didnt have the right certificates to perform hair surgery. We'll see what she comes up with then (if she replies of course).
yeah if she doesn't maybe Desmond can clear up the differences between MD and MBBS since I think he is from Australia.
I'm actually pretty sure that a MBBS degree is a medical degree in countries following the traditional UK model. Unlike the U.S. where you get an undergrad degree and then go on to med school, the MBBS is a kind of all in one. There really aren't any distinctions between bachelor or masters/doctoral in these systems, you just jump right into specialization. It is usually 6 years apposed to the 8 years it would take in the US. It's pretty common in a lot of countries like India and Australia. I think as far as the prestige hierarchy goes an MD is more desirable, but a MBBS makes you a doctor nonetheless.

I just got mail from mr Nigam. He mailed me "Kindly find below the official links of my Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of surgery"
But didnt provide any links at all, nor did he send me any certificate, which I find highly suspicious. We can only ASSUME he really does have at least a bachelor. But even if that would be true, he doesn't have a Medical Degree and therefore is not allowed to perform any kind of surgery at all.
