I'm 52 and feel that it's worse for ANYONE, male or female, who is young (teens, 20s) to lose hair. Luiza, you and I are both not at the point of needing to wear hair, so we truly do not know how we are going to feel when (if) we get there. If it were common to see women with shaved/bald heads, I don't think it would be as easy as you think to just shave it off. We, like men, would need good facial aesthetics to pull it off. I, for one, do not have that and would NEVER, EVER walk around bald in public. Plus, we have the advantage of wearing makeup to detract from facial flaws, whereas men do not. My son is 20 and losing hair fast. It's going to be tough for him to pull off the bald look. I feel way worse for him than I do for myself. I, too, feel far worse for all those who are having their youth robbed from them due to this disease. I had mine with a full head of hair, and I wish to God everyone I read about on these forums did too.

Yeah this is pretty much on point with what I think. What I am trying to say is there is a difference between how you feel, the emotional pain you take, and the consequence. I do agree, the younger you are the harder as well.

First, I wouldn't see any problem if I met a man who wears a hair system (a wig would be weird though. I find it weird even for women). You guys say it is seen as ridiculous for a guy to use a piece but trust me, it is not. It just means you rather have hair and you don't like the shaved look.

I think you guys kind of start losing your confidence and stop approaching women and then are not able anymore to realise the way we think. I can tell you 90% of girls won't mind if you wear hair. You guys are the ones who create a scenario in your minds where a girl will dump you when she finds out you are wearing a piece. If you wear hair and shows confidence as you weren't wearing anything, we will not mind.
I understand it's not just like "shave it off and done, solved!". I know a great body helps. But I am in good shape and it wouldn't help much having a good body but being bald when you are a girl hahah
I was thinking about wearing hair but I still have quite "a lot" of my bio hair to just jump into that route. It is so hard to decide when you are in the middle of the line

The girls who shave it off and are happy with it are usually girls that don't suffer from hair loss haha I wanted to shave my head once in life to feel how it is but not because I have to! That's the point, we feel abnormal and sick I've never seen a girl going through hair loss and accepting the idea of shaving.

Everyone has to be confident, no matter if they are woman or man. I can make boys come to me without moving a finger but I can't make them stay when I feel shit all the time. I'm having some problems with my boyfriend lately cause I'm always moody because of my hair and even though he doesn't see any problem he tells me I'm always pretty but much more when I'm confident. That's the whole point.

Maybe it is somewhat geographic but the girls here dig long hair usually. I don't know precisely how they would feel about men wearing hair systems but I can imagine they think it is "weird". I am glad you at least have it easy to pick up boys and it is about your own mindset to keep them.

Indeed this news cheered the whole world. I want to believe that when they say the word "cure," they refer to something that has already been caused and can be reversed. Some mentioned that in fact this treatment would be to prevent Baldness, which I do not. If it was that they did not announce as a cure but as "definitive prevention." Anyway, we can only wait scenes of later chapters.

Sorry, I don't know if they are checking hair growth after 5 years. Their trial is registered on clinicaltrials.gov and it doesn't mention analyzing hair growth at 60 months, only safety data.

This forum is more into new treatments. There are others where people mostly go to vent, and believe me, some guys have been dumped because of their hair loss

They got dumped because they are literally unrecognizable after hair loss... i.e. ugly

It's great to hear that they are getting those trialists back in and I think this what the comment on there facebook page meant by them taking biopsies. But I mean if they walk in with the same/Better amount of hair before the treatment after 5 years then it will certainly be uplifting.

As far as I know, besides of preclinical animal studies, replicel safety has been confirmed in phase 1 which was conducted on human subjects. And this technology will be available, according to japan law, after safe data from phase II (2018).

To expand, Replicel extended Phase I/IIa trials and will take final safety measures in 2016. This will provided data over 60 months (5 years). Although the sample size is small (19), it should give some idea regarding safety.

Yeah, it kinda sucks when you're 17 and are already forced to go on dutasteride just for maintaining the hair you have right now.

It's funny because when I see people in their late 20's (or older) coming to this forum and b!tching about them having receded to a NW2, I really have very little respect for them. They've had their youth with a good head of hair, they don't know really know how devastating hair loss can be.

Lets go and ask people how they live with heart failure, stroke, cancer, paralyzed, blind, autism and other very painful diseases. I will be much more happy if i see cure for these kind of diseases than MPB. Yes, its nice to have full head with hair, but that is not my priority in life.
