Cotsarelis is not going to give away any company information in a informal discussion like he had with Desmond. It would be counter productive to their business strategy considering where they are in terms of progress towards a commercial release. I would wager that a mis-direction would be more probable than anything else. Dr Cots is under no mis-perceptions about how much a truly effective MPB treatment would be worth. Why would he jeopardize anything at this stage with a careless information leak to some random person at a hair conference? 100's of millions, possibly a billion or more dollars are at stake. So, i wouldn't read too much into Desmond's report on Cots.

I think their website looks more consumer friendly than the last version, yet contains nearly the same information. The question is, why, at this point, would they suddenly redesign their website? 7 years with the same one and now, all of a sudden, it needs a rework? It may not mean squat in regards to them releasing a treatment soon. But, it is a clear attempt to reach out to the consumer or at the very least a preparation to do so in the near future. So, something is going on with them. We just don't know what....as usual.

But Desmond's interview with Cotsarelis didn't sound too good and it didn't look like anything good will come from Follica's research anytime soon, so I don't know what to think

Redone website makes me hyped, however there is not much information on that site at all. Only very basic stuff, and to be honest it looks like some snake oil website . It doesn't truly look like anything is going to come out from Follica anytime soon
Our patient today has a PhD in Medical Science, specifically Clinical and Translational Research. He had the same expectation I did related to hair growth research. Basically, we believed the lack of progress (MPB cure/treatment) was related to lack of funding, because the study of hair growth is a low priority compared with cancer and heart disease research. Wrong. He told me he recently had a look at dollar amounts received by a wide range of research projects. He told me he was surprised at the vast amounts of money that has gone into the study of hair growth. He did mention that hair growth studies may not necessarily be related to finding a cure for MPB, but hair growth research, nonetheless.

How is it partially HT doctors fault..? They spend a decade in schooling for their careers which don't involve researching for a breakthrough cure. they are simply cosmetic surgeons

Or maybe this quote is an acclamation about effectivity of propecia? Ie. "It's really that good!" I can certainly not think another reason why a mature person would say so.

Maybe Dr. Bernstein needs to have a talk... with a professional... about his own dealing with hair loss. That is, if this provocation is true.
