There are several studies on Nizoral and its effect on AGA. The patients used it 2-4 times a week, in a Japanese study almost every day. It had a significantly positive effect similar to 2% minoxidil.
Nizoral - probably made my situation worse

you're trying to turn personal experience into solid fact?
personally I have no complaints about Revita but as with any shampoo you can't expect it to be effective in any way at treating hair loss, so I understand those who think it's expensive.Leave a comment:

thanks for the info, I'll keep that in mind.
But for now I'm done with ketoLeave a comment:

Yeah, I totally trashed the nizoral. Surfing the internet a little shows that LOTS of people have the same problems with nizoral.
I would suggest anyone considering nizoral to consider the other forms of ketoconazole. Cream, other brands, etc.
The original Nizoral shampoo formula is awful , in my opinion.
Avoid Revita at all costs.
Total shit too, that is. Remember my hair thinned out a bit after I used that for a while.
TBH with keto based shampoos I am cautious, I use regenpure now - but only once a week.Leave a comment:

That may be my problem then. I am always running behind in the morning and don't have time to leave it on. Guess I should save it for the weekends then.
..Thanks...Leave a comment:

Yes, I was 'happy' (so to speak, if one can be happy while balding) for how my hair looked after a shampoo with nizoral.
Unfortunately it's just a temporary cosmetic effect ( I heard nizo contains embalming-like agents ) and the day after hair will probably look bad.
I actually think that the harsh agents like chloridric acid makes you lose shaft thickness.
Hmm. I'm sorry to hear that. It may be coincidental and have nothing to do with your hairloss, but for something that only anecdotally helps a tiny bit, I'd quit if I were you.Leave a comment:

Yes, I was 'happy' (so to speak, if one can be happy while balding) for how my hair looked after a shampoo with nizoral.I just started Nizoral, per its constant mention on this site. Mondays I shampoo with sulfate-free Aveeno and finish with their sulfate-free conditioner, and then on Fridays I use Nizoral followed by the Aveeno conditioner.
I don't know if it's doing anything for my MPB or hurting it, but I'm happier with how my hair looks, hands down.
I think a lot of people overwash their hair every week -- you want your natural oils to build up for a time on your scalp. It's good for you!

I am planning to add Nizoral to my regimen. I'll provide an update if I notice any change. Hopefully, it will help the situation. It's helpful to know that I need to avoid overusing it.Leave a comment:

I've been diagnosed last month with serborheic dermatitis in conjuction iwth MPBI agree that often daily shampoo is not needed.
In fact, I've been using nizoral and nothing else. Just water on the off days.
I was a HUGE sebum producer, but using nizoral my sebum production crashed dramatically.
The last time I used nizoral was almost 4 days ago, and my hair are still dry and skinny looking.
The scalp is shiny though.

I'm going to try an hair conditioner starting tomorrow. And trash nizoral, obviously.
. However I've been using Keto shamppo with 2% keto for a year now but not on a regular basis. Sometimes I would put it twice a week and sometimes I wouldn't use it for a month. It didn't do anything for me. It didn't stop the shedding and it didn't cure the dermatitis and it didn't make the shedding worse either.

I actively rub it into my scalp for 3-5 mins. I then follow it up by using conditioner, which I actively rub through my hair for 3-5 mins.Leave a comment:

How long do you leave it in? I just bought a bottle of 1%. I don't remember it working all that well before, but I have been getting that darn "rogaine dandruff" ever since I went back to the 5% version.I'm someone who is prone to very irritated scalp. Ever since I was 12 or 13 my scalp would get severely red and inflamed.
Since about age 16 I've been using Head and Shoulders anti-dandruff 2-in-1 and it has kept the inflammation down. I still have bad dandruff though.
I use Nizoral when I find the time, but it always seems to add like 10 minutes to my showers so I don't use it very often. When I do use it though, my scalp feels amazing.Leave a comment:
