Guys,
I've recently had a bunch of grafts from the beard & chest transplanted to fill in my remaining thinning areas on the scalp. Prior to the procedure, I was not taking finasteride, just minoxidil liquid & foam, as well as Regenepure shampoo (which has Saw Palmetto, Biotin, etc.) and Ketoconazole / Nizoral 1% shampoo.
I've recently read that finasteride & dutasteride inhibit DHT synthesis and likely negatively impact body hair growth. I'm not planning on taking finasteride post my procedure either. But given that Saw Palmetto & Ketoconazole shampoos are claimed to tackle DHT topically on the scalp, should I discontinue using shampoos that contain saw palmetto & nizoral after my beard hair transplant to the scalp? Obviously I would prefer to keep using them, but my priority is survival and growth of these newly transplanted beard grafts on my scalp. Would Regenepure and Nizoral pose any risk to them?
