    Reconstructive hair surgery on a female patient with burn marks – 2377 FU

    FUT performed on a 26 year old African female patient with:

    - Donor density of ca. 72 FU/cm2 in the temporal donor region and 76 FU/cm2 in the parietal donor region
    - Hair diameter of ca. 52-56 microns
    - Hair loss due to a burning injury in her childhood
    - Her health insurance didn’t cover the costs of a reconstructive surgery so she became a ‘foundation’ patient

    Treatment plan:

    Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 1800-2000 FU to restore and fill in the burn marks.

    Performed procedure (January, 19th 2016):

    A Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 2377 FU
    * 514 single hair FU
    * 1461 double hair FU
    * 402 triple hair FU

    Donor closing in 1mm lower edge Trichophytic Closure technique;
    Parallel and perpendicular incisions (single, double and triple hair units) were made in custom-sized blades technique (~Cutting Edge blades of 0.7mm – 1mm);
    Density of 30-50 FU/cm2 in the hairline and feather zone (single units), a density of 40-45 FU/cm2 in the density zone (double and triple units).
