Dr. Lindsey, Operative technique of 3 layer scar revision

This in surgery graphic video shows a patient who had a poor HT result elsewhere and a poor scar, who we repaired by excising his old scar and doing a frontal hair case. His HT results were great but he had a relatively poor scar...I'd grade this as a "C". Certainly better than the scar he had when he came to us, but not a great scar. Now part of this is likely that he is just a poor scar former. Part of this is related to the "double edged sword" of the opposing goals of trying to get hair for his repair and improve his scar. I've posted several threads on this elsewhere on the forums. And part of this is likely related to him doing absolutely no postop care or following up after his one month scar check when his scar was a bit red...and I told him lets see him monthly.

In any case, the video shows (graphically for those of you with weak stomachs) exactly how we excise a scar and do a 3 layer closure.

HOPEFULLY, he'll do scar care this time and show up for scar checks.
