Dr. Lindsey summary of 2 strip cases to treat radiation caused hairloss after cancer

This 18year old boy is about 11 years out from radiation treatments to cure cancer in the jaw joint. His entire right parietal scalp was without hair. Readers may recall that I posted a similar case that we did last year with a one year update this past May with excellent results, also in a young man. And readers may know that my daughter has brain cancer, so I am only too familiar with what these kids have had to endure.
We did 2 strip cases, the second one just before starting college last summer. He stopped by last week and really had a great result. The transformation physically, mentally, and for the mom are beyond description.
Given the radiation, I was not sure it would work….but it did quite nicely. His recipient area felt like normal scalp, it appeared to have good vascularity and he did great cleaning.
I suspect this is the last I’ll see of him. He’s moving forward with his life and career plans.

Shown are periop pics and postop pics from both surgeries, app 5 months after the second case, and last week. I’ve asked him to join in and post his thoughts as well.
