This acquaintance of one of our technicians had multiple surgeries, plug, strip, and pseudo-fues, at a variety of nearby offices. While he looks decent, and his really coarse salt and pepper hair certainly helps, his part line and crown are pretty thin. Plus his donor area is smorgasbord of various scar results and his scalp remained tight even with a month of stretching.

We excised a standard sized strip from him and got 1500 grafts. A 3 layer closure was very tight. Approximately 1000 were placed along the part line with the remainder in the left side of his crown. Pictures from the surgery and a week out are shown. He stopped by our area last week requesting more surgery…and I told him he has to wait until this one starts to grow. He insisted it was growing, so we took pictures and I believe he is right. Although he insisted we do a second case, I’m making him wait 12 months so that his scalp is fully healed. His scar from our closure did in fact turn out nicely..somewhat of a surprise given his previous scars and his tight closure.
