Hi there- I've attached a photo that shapiro marked upof my head. What they are recommending is FUT instead of FUE. Little concerned aobut that, but they think its just a better route since i have somuch to fill in. Any concerns anyone can think of? Really appreciate the help.

Have you sent your information and photos to H & Wong for a recommendation too? If not, do so and share their recommendation then you'll be in a better position to ask for opinions.Joe Tillman

That is a very large operation to try to do all in one (or two) days, just FYI. By either route, that is a big surgery. Some docs would do this in stages, which is something to consider.
Given your degree of hair loss and what you hope to accomplish, FUT may be a better choice for you IMHO.Comment

It looks like you're headed to a NW6. You have a large area to address and with FUT you can accomplish more in less time than with FUE. FUT is a great option for those who never plan to shave down to a grade 1 or 0 in the future.Hi, I'm the Head Tech and Surgical Manager for Shapiro Medical Group. janna@shapiromedical.comComment

I understand the fear with FUT. I recently had a similar sized session FUT and was thinking I should do FUE too but now I've come to realize I think I'd rather have 1 thin long scar than 5000 little tiny scars scattered all over the back of my head. Also it seems I could still have plenty to work with if I ever wanted to do a future FUE procedure because the back of my scalp aside from the FUT scar is fine. That being said if you're feeling uneasy take plenty of time no need to do anything actually.Comment

FUT is actually better use of your donor. Especially when you have a large area to cover.
Ron Shapiro is one of the top 3 FUT surgeons in the entire world.
You would be in great hands.Comment
