View Full Version : Technician Run Hair Transplant Surgery Vs. ARTAS - Dr. Gabe Zingaretti

No matter what the consumer is being told or sold, today’s average FUE clinic seems to be performing almost completely technician run surgery. Many hair transplant surgeons offering manual or motorized FUE in today’s market are less involved in the process than at any other time in the history of this field. While there are some fantastic technicians doing outstanding work in the industry, patients need to be made aware that not all techs are created equal and that the final outcome of any surgery will only be as good as the team's weakest link.

Spencer Kobren and Dr. Gabe Zingaretti, Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Restoration Robotics and lead developer of the ARTAS robotic hair transplant system discuss the reality of today’s hair transplant market and why physicians who choose to incorporate the ARTAS into their practices might be illustrating more of a commitment to their patients rather than to their pocketbooks.

Personally I find it difficult to justify allowing technicians to perform such a difficult surgery and I have heard on Spencer’s show that even some of the better clinics are moving in this direction. It’s very disturbing.
