How you doing lads,
I have been lurking in this forum for some time now, and as we would say in the UK , you guys seem like good ****s(that's a compliment btw lol).Any way my name is Chris and I am 19 years of age and I am currently suffering from hair loss. I have 1 question.....why?
For the past year or so I have been increasingly concerned by the amount of hair I have lost. And I have been wondering why. At first I thought it was genetics. because of my Father, who is bald. However, Dad is the only person in my whole Family I know of who is bald. On my Father's side ironically there is no history of Baldness, receding yes but not baldness. On my mother's side has no history of Hair loss not even receding.
Then something dawned on me, for the past 6-8 years, ever since High School I have had terrible itching in my head. I didn't take it too seriously, considering I had long and thick hair, I didn't worry about it at first. At around age 18 I started to notice that my hairline was receding, baring in mind the itching was particularly bad in my crown and my temples/hairline. I went to the doctors at least 7 times(GPs I should say) and they told me that it was nothing to worry about, that it wasn't a big deal.
In May of this year, the doctor finally arranged for me to see a dermatologist in August. And sure enough the dermatologist Diagnosed me with Sebohrric Dermatitis, Which explained the terrible itching and dandruff in my head. Therefore the dermatologist prescribed me with Nizoral 2% Shampoo, I was lucky enough to get it for free (Free prescriptions in Scotland Through the NHS) Its ****ing expensive. The itching has died down but not completely and the dandruff hasn't gotten away.
But I still don't know why/or at least fully confirm why I'm losing my hair. Is it genetics or is it because of Sebohrric Dermatitis? This has been really getting to me because I have been through years of terrible acne and now I'm losing my Hair. I also noticed that my Hairline is full of Vellus hairs, Is it possible I can regrow my hairline. I hope you can help me!!!!!
